According to Vanguard, the suspect, Idowu Owolabi, 45, now in police custody, was arrested on Monday, January 28, 2019, following a complaint lodged at the Oja-Odan Police Division by the victim, alleging her father to have turned her into an instrument of s-x. A Lagos-bound Air Peace flight was forced to return to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Wednesday, following safety concerns over an explosive on board the aircraft, Punch Metro reports. The Corporate Communications Manager of the carrier, Mr Chris Iwarah, said the pilot aborted the flight after receiving information that there was an explosive on the aircraft. It was gathered that the deceased were drugged, tied up and strangled by a gang that included some workers at the hotel. Olusola, who had lived in London, the United Kingdom, for 35 years, was said to have returned to Nigeria recently and opened the hotel for business in March 2018. It was learnt that the 56-year-old had issues with some of the workers, who allegedly defrauded the hotel of millions of naira. Two of the workers were reportedly sacked after the police were invited to look into the matter. Last week Thursday, a gang said to have consisted some of the sacked workers and some still in the employment of the hotel, allegedly conspired among themselves and drugged Olusola and Tunji. The operatives at Ejigbo Police Division have made an arrest of a 37-year-old man for allegedly raping a 16-year-old boy at his residence in Ejigbo. The suspect, Chineecherem Prince, a native of Abia state was said to have indulged in the act at his residence at Araromi Street, Ejigbo, according to police reports. Neighbours at his residence stated that they had long been in suspicion over the manner at which the young boy made his way into his residence, noting that on the day he was caught, there was a loud scream by the teenage victim who was subjected to anal sex by the suspect. The police, after conducting a search at Prince’s residence affirmed that there were sights of used condoms, stained with blood which he used on the victim. Two persons were on Wednesday confirmed dead after a truck, loaded with 33,000 litres of petroleum product, fell and caught fire at Barracks Bus Stop, along the Mile 2/Badagry Expressway, Lagos State. According to TVC, eyewitnesses said the incident occurred around 5 am on Wednesday. It was gathered that two trucks and three cars were completely burnt. Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Emeka Oti, said that the two deceased persons were among the three occupants of a vehicle used for smuggling.
