Two Dead In Lagos Building Collapse

Two people have been confirmed dead in a three-storey building that collapsed in Lagos on Saturday.

The building, located at Number 9, Amosun Street, Ijora Badia, was said to have been an uncompleted building with nobody residing in it.

Confirming the accident, Adesina Tiamiyu, General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), stated that those who died were illegal residents, as they were in the building when it partially collapsed from the back.

He added that two of the residents were brought out dead from the debris, while the third person sustained some injuries.

Yahoo yahoo: EFCC raids Astrax Autos in Lekki, seizes 29 exotic cars

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos office, on Tuesday, seized a total of 29 exotic cars during a raid on the office of a Lagos-based car dealer, Astrax Auto Shop. The raid followed intelligence report received by the Commission on the activities of the operators of the auto shop, who are said to be a syndicate of organized Internet fraudsters. EFCC explained that investigation revealed that the syndicate, which specializes in Business Emails Compromise, BEC, in the United States of America, USA, usually moves proceeds of its alleged illicit business to a nominated bank account owned by their mules in the U.S. The syndicate members allegedly launder the proceeds through money order, which they use to purchase cars in American auctions and ship same to Nigeria for sale. The EFCC had earlier arrested one of the syndicate members, Olusegun Micheal Adeyemi. In his statement to the EFCC, Adeyemi confirmed one Tayo Onilogbo Yusuf as the Managing Director of Astrax Autos...

Wow! Apple To Reduce Prices Of Products

Image
Apple’s iPhone revenue has plunged in the December quarter, and the company is ready to make some changes. According to CEO Tim Cook, Apple will reduce prices of the iPhone in markets where local currencies have weakened against the dollar. “As we’ve gotten into January and assessed the macroeconomic condition in some of those markets, we’ve decided to go back to more commensurate with what our local prices were a year ago in hopes of helping the sales in those areas,” Cook told Reuters (via The Next Web). “If you’ve never bought an iPhone outside of the U.S., you may not be aware of just how staggering the price difference is. I’ve been pointing it out over and over and over — it’s hard to justify spending $1,760 for a maxed-out iPhone XS (UK pricing at launch) when the exact same model costs $1,349 in the U.S. And it’s even harder in a country like Hungary, where the price is even higher and the average customer’s purchasing power is far lower than in the U.S. Yes, a part of the pric...

Nwodo Betrayed Our Trust By Endorsing Atiku, Says Ohaneze Ndigbo Secretary

Image
Atiku and Nwodo Uche Okwukwu, Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, says the endorsement of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by John Nwodo, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo President, is “betrayal of trust reposed on him” by Igbo leaders. He said this in an interview with The Sun, stating that the adoption and endorsement of Atiku did not follow due process. Okwukwu noted that as the Secretary-General of the body, he did not sight any communiqué, nor did he sign anything to that effect, it as it should be done. “It is a procedural error. I must say as the Secretary-General, that I sign the communiqué with the President General, that one never took place; I never saw any communiqué. In fact, no communiqué was drafted. And that’s why I said that the purported endorsement of Atiku is invalid," he said. He also described the Imeobi meeting where Atiku was endorsed, as fake and unconstitutional because key leaders were absent. “Imagine an Imeobi that wa...
